- 1 ½ kilogram of tomatoes
- a little fresh basil
- 3-4 cloves of garlic
- salt blossom
- glass jars
How to make?
To preserve whole tomatoes in a jar, choose tomatoes strong, mature and without bumps. We’re barking. Sterilize the jars and lids.
After washing the jars with warm water and soap, either boil them for 15 minutes on medium heat, or light the oven at 150 o C on the resistors, spread a towel on the oven grill and place the jars and lids.
Allow to remain in the oven for 15 minutes. We take them out carefully, because they burn a lot and let them cool down.
Fill each jar with whole tomatoes, pushing to fit tightly. Place garlic, basil or other scent in between. Sprinkle 1/2 g. salt in each jar.
We seal the vases.
Place them in a deep, upside-down casserole.
In the meantime, we smear sails so that they do not break, fill with water, protrude 5 cm from the jars. Simmer for 20 minutes. Allow them to cool in the water.
The jars can be kept in the cupboard for many months, but once they are opened, we keep them in the fridge.
In addition to whole tomatoes in a jar, canned can also keep peppers by following the instructions below
