Vassilopita With Flower-Water And Mastic


  • 1 fl. cow butter
  • 1½ fl. sugar
  • 6 eggs
  • 1 fl. tepid fresh milk
  • 1 fl. Greek brown flower
  • 1 Mr. baking powder
  • 1/2 Mr. shredded mastic
  • 1/2 kg of lemon juice
  • 1 lemon (zest)
  • 4 fl. raw
  • 1 fl. almonds ground with their peel

How to make?

1. Beat the butter with sugar for 6 to 7 until it is creased and whitened. We put one on the yolks, and we continue the hit. Add the lemon zest, mastic, rose water, juice, milk and flour sifted with the baking powder. Finally, add the almonds and egg whites after they hit them in a meringue. Gently fold over the dough and mix with a spoon until the mixture is homogenized.

2. Butter and strain pastry in a 30 cm baking dish. Empty the mixture.

3. Bake for 50 at 170 ° C until the basil pie is blown and peeled off the baking wall.
